We're in Mountain City, Texas at 1:49 on October 1st, 2019, and the crew of Union Pacific's LAF-28 local has been busy switching cars at the north end of 
Texas Lehigh Cement and Builder's First Source lumber yard. Set against a backdrop of the flags hoisted at the entrance to Texas Lehigh, the conductor stands on the front porch of SD40N 1795 and scans the track at MP196 on the Austin Subdivision to ensure that the derail and the switches are properly set before heading to the south end of the cement plant to assemble the loads and empties for the return trip to Jama yard in San Marcos.

At 4:39 on September 10th, 2019, a Union Pacific conductor rides the rear steps of a tank car as he cons his train around the east leg of the wye at Harwood, Texas. The entire consist of the San Antonio-based LAU-07 local will be set out on the main of the Texas, Gonzales & Northern, who will send their own power and crew to forward the cars to the various customers along the 12-mile line to Gonzales.
